Some personal news - I'm joining Snowplow Analytics
I'm joining Snowplow to run their internal data team
Welcome back to Data Rampage! Today’s edition is slightly different, in that it is just about some important personal news: I have a new job!
As of today, I’m joining Snowplow Analytics as their new Head of Data, Analytics and AI. This is very exciting for me personally, as I have been a fan, advocate and customer of Snowplow for years now - in my opinion, they have the single best behavioral data solution on the market at the moment, and I’m really looking forward to working with them to make it bigger and better, and to (hopefully!) help the company to fulfil the potential I see in it.
My role is still somewhat in flux, but I will be responsible for building a central data team within Snowplow to solve some of the bigger internal challenges around working with data strategically - up to now, data at Snowplow has been completely decentralised, so it’s going to be a fascinating task to build a team, build up some centralised data infrastructure, and more effectively extract insights. My goal over the medium term is to turn this team into a center of excellence for all things Snowplow, so that our work can feed into the Product and Customer Success teams and also play a more public-facing role. I’m really looking forward to it!
It’s been quite fantastic having a several month break from work, I can’t lie, but I’m also really really excited about this opportunity. I’d like to thank the co-founders Alex Dean and Yali Sassoon, as well as my new boss, Christian Lubasch (Chief Data Officer), for making this happen.
So this is a big deal personally!
Having said that, I plan to continue writing Data Rampage, and, what’s more, I intend for this to be my own thing - I don’t want this newsletter to become an extension of Snowplow’s marketing program.
This is why I will strictly limit the amount I discuss Snowplow as a product in the newsletter … there’s plenty of other data-related topics to discuss!
I’m going to make an exception, though: tomorrow I will be publishing a deep dive into how we used Snowplow at Penta to build an advanced marketing attribution system; I think it will be a very interesting and useful read for anyone involved in marketing analytics.

One last (music) thing
As I mention in each of these newsletters, I’ve been a dj for 25 years, so I’ve decided to end each newsletter with one of my mixes from my (extremely extensive!) back catalogue.
Self-indulgent? Sure.
Today, since I am joining London-based Snowplow, it only makes sense to highlight a recent mix of mine called ‘… I did go to Metalheadz’, which is dedicated to the famous London 90’s club, Metalheadz, which blew my teenage mind when I went to it. Metalheadz was legendary as the breeding ground for a new, futuristic style of drum n’ bass, music that still has not lost any of its power for me.
Thanks for reading, see you tomorrow with my deep dive into marketing attribution!
